Sustainability Policy of A.C. Perchs Thehandel
At A.C. Perchs Thehandel, we are dedicated to working towards a more sustainable tea industry. This involves adopting meaningful sustainability practices aimed at reducing the environmental impact of all our activities. While we focus on ensuring that our products are safe and of the highest quality, we continually collaborate with those who strive to promote sustainability within our supply chain. All of our suppliers must adhere to our Code of Conduct to supply products to our business.
Our environmental and sustainability policy is based on the following principles:
- Our procurement process aims to ensure responsible sourcing from certified plantations.
- Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Ensuring that all employees are familiar with our environmental and sustainability policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.
- Continuously reviewing and striving to improve our sustainability performance.
- Promoting environmental responsibility within the organization and communicating and implementing this policy at all levels of the workforce.
- Encouraging both ourselves and our customers to use compostable packaging materials for as many products as possible. (Our tea bags are plastic-free and made from compostable and biodegradable materials.)
- Reducing the use of energy, water, and other resources.
- Minimizing waste by ensuring recycling or reuse.
- Where possible, avoiding physical travel to meetings, etc., when alternatives like telephone and video conferencing are available and practical.
- Ensuring that our policies and services are developed in a way that aligns with this policy.
A.C. Perchs är medlem av Ethical Tea Partnership
We are proud to be part of the Ethical Tea Partnership, whose goal is to promote long-term, systemic change in three key areas of the tea industry: economy, equality, and the environment. With programs in Africa and Asia, ETP also leads the sustainability agenda by testing business innovations and influencing policy.
Bhakanje Tea Estate Project
In collaboration with the Himalayan Project and the Human Practice Foundation, we have founded and opened the highest tea estate in the world in Bhakanje, Nepal. The tea estate supports the local community through sustainable tea production, which is sold in A.C. Perchs’ teashop under the name Human Empowerment Tea. 100% of the profits are reinvested into the community. The project began in 2016.
Copenhagen Pride
A.C. Perchs is a product partner for Copenhagen Pride. Copenhagen Pride is an excellent way to celebrate freedom, equality, and human rights, and we are proud to announce that we are once again the official product partner for Copenhagen Pride 2023. At A.C. Perchs Teashop, diversity and inclusion are a natural part of our daily life, but there is still much to be done regarding equality and freedom around the world. Even though there is more focus on equality today, everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or lifestyle, should have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. Diversity and inclusion are high on our agenda and involve all employees and teams in our company. Copenhagen Pride highlights these fundamental human rights.
