Rooibos

The Rooibos plant is grown in Cederberg Mountains located 250 kilometers from Cape Town. Rooibos is mainly being harvested during the summer period. The plant has needle-shaped leaves and resembles a small coniferous tree. During the fermentation process only spring water is being used and the drying-process happens under the strong, African sun. This process cause that the leaves turn red.

Rooibos does not contain caffeine or tannins.

Recommended preparation: 100 °C water/10 g. per liter water.

Time: 7 minutes.
