Our top-quality organic Matcha comes from Kagoshima, Japan’s largest organically certified tea region. Here, tea is grown under optimal conditions, which provides a pure and intense taste experience.

This matcha is stone mortar ground – a rare and time-consuming method where only about 30 grams are produced per hour. This artisanal process ensures a particularly fine texture and a soft, nuanced taste.

Matcha is made from fresh green Tencha tea, which – like Gyokuro – is shade-grown for 20 days before harvest. The tea leaves are steamed and dried alternately before they are gently ground into the characteristic fine green powder.

Matcha is a classic Japanese ceremonial tea that is traditionally prepared with bamboo whisks (chasen) and a Matcha bowl.

Profile: Full-bodied and creamy with powerful notes of grass, seaweed and umami. This quality is particularly suitable for the thick matcha (Koicha) and should be enjoyed in its pure form, but can also be used for e.g. matcha latte.

Method: Pour 1 tsp (1.5 g) Matcha into a small bowl. Then add 70 ml of water (70°C water), whip the Matcha until it foams and is then ready to drink. Follow our guide to the perfect cup of Matcha here.
