China Silver Needle

For this tea, only thick, tender white shoots are used. The white shoots undergo a very special treatment over three days. First, they are given a heat treatment of 32 degrees. This treatment is stopped when there is 30% moisture left in the leaf. Then the tea leaves are rolled in brown paper and packed in wooden boxes. After two days, the leaves are roasted over very low heat, after which they are again rolled in paper and put back in wooden boxes. The next day, the leaves receive another heat treatment, and then are packed in metal boxes, to ensure optimal freshness. This tea has a fantastically nice, slightly sweet taste and should be enjoyed on its own. Profile: China Silver Needle is a top quality consisting of the upper, tender wefts. The bouquet is very mild with a slight sweetness and dry, hayy notes. Recommended preparation: 80°C water / 10 g. per liter water Time: 10 minutes.
